Short version: your reader data stays on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.

Who this is for

Chinese Story Garden helps readers learn Chinese through stories. It is designed for families and readers of all ages, with a privacy model that avoids collecting information in the first place.

What we collect

Nothing. Chinese Story Garden does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. There is no account to create, no sign-up, no email address requested, and the app contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising code of any kind.

What the app stores, and where

Reader names, avatars, flash cards, taels, rewards, reading history and story progress are stored only in your device's local storage. They never leave the device.

Deleting the app, or using Reset this reader's progress inside it, removes them permanently. We cannot recover them, because we never had them.

About iCloud sync

You may see an iCloud sync label in the app. It is not active — the current version sends nothing anywhere.

When it arrives in the iPhone and iPad app, it will copy reader profiles to your own private iCloud account, so a child's progress can move between your devices. That data goes to Apple's iCloud under your Apple ID. It would never be sent to us, and we would have no way to read it.

Narration

Story narration uses your device's built-in speech voices. Nothing is recorded, and no audio is sent anywhere.

Network

The app works fully offline. It loads only its own bundled files and makes no requests to any outside server.

Backups

Backups you download are ordinary files, saved by you, wherever you choose. We never receive them.

Privacy for families and children

If a child uses Chinese Story Garden, the same zero-collection design applies:

• No personal information is collected from anyone, including children
• No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software is included
• There is no chat, no user-to-user contact, and no user-generated content that anyone else can see
• Purchases and actions that leave the app require a multiplication parent gate

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for a parent to request, correct, or delete from us. Everything is under your control on your own device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the same wording appears inside the app.
